A barndominium  or barndo as we like to call them, was originally meant to be a more economical means of DIY homebuilding. This was a Metal frame and shell that could be purchased and constructed  to be finished out on the inside. With the rising fanbase of barndos the more elaborate they have become. We build a variety of barndominiums but all are unique in size, color, and style and no two are the same. 

Customizing your Barndo with SLHI means designing your home however you want. Whatever floorplan whether existing or not, we can create what works for you both interior and exterior and all with a designers touch. We do not limit our clients to a stream of options but rather provide a personalized design experience where we work with youtube curate the home you have been dreaming of and more. 

We primarily focus on residential barndominiums but we can do both. 

When it comes to building a barndo there are two things you'll need to ask- are they allowed in the area you're building? And can you get it funded with your lender? We have lenders that we know can make this happen but ultimately it comes down to the individual financial institutions and the verbage they use to get these homes funded. It is so important to have the right lender when it comes to barndos and we couldn't express that more. 

You will need to check with your local HOA and county/city permitting office to determine if you require permits to complete your build prior to starting the design build process. 

We have a list of our preferred lenders that we provide all of our clients with at our initial consult. We work to set you up for success from day one by partnering with lenders that we know can you on a path that works for you and can also get your barndominium approved through all stages of funding.
